Sonoma County Ag + Open Space logoThe Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District (Ag + Open Space) permanently protects the diverse agricultural, natural resource, and scenic open space lands of Sonoma County for future generations. We are currently recruiting for a full-time Stewardship Technician to monitor and document conditions on Ag + Open Space's conservation easements. This position is assigned to Ag + Open Space's Stewardship Program and is an excellent opportunity to join a mission-driven organization, with a passion for protecting lands that contribute to Sonoma County's scenic beauty, local agriculture, native habitats and recreational lands.

The Stewardship Technician will be part of a dynamic team that stewards Ag + Open Space's conservation easements and protected lands, and will round out our team that monitors Ag + Open Space's 240+ conservation easements. This position, under direction from Ag + Open Space's Stewardship Supervisor, will actively facilitate communication and relationship building with easement landowners, schedule visits and conduct monitoring visits to easement properties, photograph property conditions and collect data in the field, produce maps in GIS reflecting collected data, and compile monitoring reports with these data. Additionally, this position will assist in maintaining Ag + Open Space's monitoring database, undertake discrete fee land management projects, and support Stewardship staff in conducting research and developing recommendations for action on a variety of Stewardship-related issues.
